The Anna Maria Island Moose Lodge no longer will be home to food trucks due to city permit issues that increase operation costs for truck operators.
The lodge, in Bradenton Beach, Florida, had been given a green light to let food trucks operate in its parking lot as a way to offer the community more cuisine options during the coronavirus and the lodge's revamp of its kitchen.
But city officials want diners to have a Moose membership to buy from the trucks and that requirement led to fewer customers and declining income for participating trucks, according to The Anna Maria Islander.
The lodge must have a temporary-use permit if the trucks sell to non-Lodge members, according to the news report.
