Food trucks, for the first time, will be serving meals up at Arizona rest areas thanks to the Federal Highway Administration's green light to do business at rest areas nationwide during the national emergency declaration time period.
The decision to let trucks serve at rest areas is aimed at helping truckers find meals on the road as COVID-19 has shuttered dine-in eateries and to also help food trucks stay in business during the coronavirus pandemic.
One of the first Phoenix-based trucks will be Red Ginger, according to an AZFamily report.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said a maximum of three food trucks at a time will be allowed at eight locations.
