San Diego gets a hot dog on a stick

There is now a Hot Dog on a Stick food truck trucking around San Diego County.

The food truck will be serving up its fare across multiple communities but primarily North County, according to a Patch report.

The business, which is celebrating its 75th year, is now run by Encinitas native Courtney Barham, the granddaughter of the Hot Dog on a Stick founder Dave Barham. Her grandfather launched his business near the Santa Monica Pier as a beach stand.

"I'm really excited to bring it back to the beach community where it all came from and where it all began," Barham told the news outlet.

The brand now has 49 locations across five states and one location in China.

"I'm bringing it back to San Diego," Barham told the news outlet. "This is a new area for us, but we're looking forward to serving our community."
