Soul & Smoke opening in Chicago

Soul & Smoke, purveyors of barbecue and comfort food in Chicago and which operates a food truck, is opening a walk-up eatery at Rockwell on the River, an events space in Chicago.

The company's Avondale ghost kitchen will also move to the location. The space will be a counter-order concept with indoor and outdoor seating available, according to a press release.

The restaurant will serve Executive Chef D'Andre Carter's slow-roasted, smoked meats including prime brisket, rib tips and pulled pork as well as mac 'n' cheese, collard greens and house-made pickles. It will also serve custom-made Beer for The Soul created by Sketchbook Brewery.

Soul & Smoke launched its first to-go location in Evanston in 2020 and has a residency at Time Out Market, as well as a retail BBQ sauce line in all 44 Mariano's grocery stores.
