South Carolina food truck owners form food truck booking service

Food truck operators in Charleston, South Carolina, have formed a local food truck booking service called Wonder Trucks, that will begin providing services to customers March 1, according to Charleston City Paper.

Paula O'Reilly, co-owner of Oh So Gelato, which serves handmade gelato, sorbet and ice cream, organized the new cooperative, which will work with wedding planners, event planners and venues to book food trucks.

The lineup so far includes Bearded Dogs, Braised in the South, Brunch Holiday, Cast Iron, Dough Boyz, Jonny Poppers, Rebel Taqueria, Root Note,Tamashii, Two Fat Olives, Oh So Gelato and Mamasita's Margaritas.

The concept is similar to Roaming Hunger, a national food truck event coordinator that allows clients to browse food trucks, negotiates rates and coordinates logistics. O'Reilly said she has used Roaming Hunger but said the service has no "boots on the ground" in Charleston.
