Star Micronics, Flash Order team up on self-ordering kiosk for foodservice

Star Micronics, a POS provider, and Flash Order have collaborated on a system featuring a kiosk, menu wizard and full-featured kitchen display system in which Flash Order has added support for Star Micronics' TSP143III, SP742 printers and CD3 Cash Drawers. It also plans to add support for mPOP.

Flash Order technology with Star Micronics' printing peripherals provides a do-it-yourself kiosk option for fast and easy digital ordering, according to a press release.

Using the menu wizard, foodservice establishments can import a menu from Square or build it from scratch and Flash Order allows users to manage orders through the Flash Order KDS or Star Printing.

"Flash Order self-order kiosks are perfect for restaurants of any size from food trucks to multi-unit chains," said Flash Order co-founder Weston Hafen in the release. "Kiosks can eliminate long lines, increase revenue, and with our DIY approach a location can be set up and ready to take customer orders in minutes."
