The first-ever food truck battle, hosted by Destination Midland, in Midland, Texas, raised money for a local orphan charity and also helped local food trucks dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
Over 10 trucks, from the Midland-Odessa area, participated in the food truck rally, competing for prizes such as best overall, according to a CBS 7 report.
The event benefited the Permian Basin Dream for Orphans organization and was planned by Pachu-Cos Mobile Food Company owner Ruben Carrasco.
"The small businesses is the ones that did this, the food trucks in particular," Carassco told the news outlet. "We hope to raise around $2,500 dollars just from the food trucks for the Permian Basin Dream for Orphans."
