Kyley McGeeney, who lives in Silver Spring, is such a big food truck fan she's helping to coordinate food trucks with receptive audiences.
And she's doing it out of her love for food truck fare as well as love for her local community, according to a Washington NBC report.
Food truck operators are having a hard time finding customers given Washington, D.C., like most of the U.S., is in shutdown mode due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. There are few office workers seeking lunch and small businesses, like food trucks, are taking a hit financially.
So McGeeney decided to help out by organizing trucks to appear at a parking lot in the neighborhood and organizing residents to come out and enjoy the food. Currently the truck fare is New Orlean's Mardi Gras.
