What The Fries truck expanding into physical store location

The What The Fries food truck, in Charlotte, North Carolina, is planning on opening a brick-and-mortar location in early 2021.

Truck co-owners Greg Williams and Jamie Barnes plan to launch the eatery in the former Cici's Pizza store location at 10707 Park Road in South Charlotte, according to a Charlotte Observer report.

The truck cuisine is gourmet fries and the restaurant will feature that menu along with burgers and handmade tots.

"Being in one spot — and not on the truck — will give us a chance to spread our wings from a culinary perspective. Our goal is for people to taste our food and walk away with the feeling that they have to come back again because the food was so distinctive. Now they won't have to find the truck; they can find us in the same spot," Barnes said in a statement.

The restaurant will feature socially distanced dine-in or carryout, and hands-free digital payment options. The owners said they will temporarily shut down the truck during the restaurant launch.
