When a food truck park becomes a food truck operation

August 5, 2020

The typical food truck park often serves up fare from an empty parking lot or parcel of land and offers nothing but food truck fare.

But in Omaha, some food truck operators are putting quite a different spin on the 'park' approach.

Trucks and Taps, in Omaha, Nebraska is home to three food trucks and their 'park' location (a former Sonic Drive-In building) boasts a commissary kitchen, as well as an office and even a walk-up bar, according to a Omaha World Herald report.

The space offers parking for 25 customers as well as a patio set up for socially distant dining.

Operators have use of electric as well as any needed trays and are saving money not having to use generators, according to the report.

Three trucks will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
