Last year was a good one for Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, which logged a 14.5% leap in system0wide sales, built 41 restaurants and continued to make guests smile with daily-made custard, steak sandwiches, cheese curds and concretes.

In the words of today's podcast guest, Freddy's co-founder and COO Scott Redler, it was kind of like driving along in your new sports car with the top down on a sunny day when all is right with the world.

But then, of course, "Blam!" COVID-19 forced Freddy's to slam on the breaks.

Freddy's leaders, however, are determined to not only make it through this crisis but rise above it. Granted, Freddy's brand of hospitality is proving more challenging through a drive-thru speakerphone, but Redler tells us how his team is conquering that feat and many others in the first part of today's podcast.

And speaking of feats, any restaurateur who has made their way through the many complexities of the CARES Act, Paycheck Protection Program or — even the National Restaurant Association's response to those measures — the Blueprint for Recovery, has certainly accomplished something.

But if you and your brand's leadership could still use a kind of legal Sherpa to guide you through these voluminous pieces of legislation and loan programs, two attorneys and partners with the Messner Reeves law firm, who are experts on the subjects, join the podcast in the second half.
