Denver food truck operator loses money in event scam

Wirth said, "When we showed up to the event on Friday, we were told that we were not on the list and that there was a scam that they were aware of."

Wirth said she also bought $600 worth of food for the event and now is out $1,000. She recommended that food truck operators do their research when receiving emails and check through official channels.

"In retrospect, what I wish I would've done is go to the official website of the city of Northglenn," Wirth said. "Had I done that, you know, I would've been connected with the proper people to contact."
