The Johns Creek City Council will consider a 12-month pilot program Monday that would allow independent food vendors, including food trucks, to operate at The Boardwalk during non-event days, according to a report by Appen Media.

The program would mark the first time food trucks and pushcarts could sell food and refreshments at city parks outside of city-sponsored or permitted events.

City staff said the temporary policy will help evaluate the impact of food vendors on park vibrancy and pedestrian traffic at the 20-acre green space, which opened in May as part of the city's new Town Center district. The program would include rules covering vendor operating hours, permitting, insurance and a ban on alcohol sales.
