The coronavirus pandemic effectively shuttered in-door dining as of late March across the U.S. and restaurants and bars are just slowly beginning to open as lawmakers ease shutdown and stay-at-home mandates.
One solution in such a unique industry landscape is the food truck, according to a Business Insider report that offers up insight on how food truck operators can help feed those who don't feel safe venturing out during a pandemic and also provide restaurants a way to keep business afloat.
In the article, written by Ross Resnick, CEO of the food truck catering and events company Roaming Hunger, a food truck operation is also a good fit for the current rules in place regarding social distancing and avoiding crowds as diners can order ahead and pick up away from a line or crowds.
"Despite all the doom and gloom, however, we've seen something remarkable examples of food entrepreneurs actually growing their businesses," he wrote in the article. "The demand for food service is still there, just now in different formats."
