Jeremy Pasztor, owner of Holey Rollers Donut food truck, clashed with village officials over the revocation of his food truck permit, according to a report by Times Leader Online.
Pasztor requested council withdraw a $100 citation issued Oct. 2 for operating without a permit outside Hometown Roots Salon. He alleged Mayor Mike Meintel revoked his permit following a dispute over phone calls with Village Clerk Betty Snyder regarding parking rules.
Meintel denied the claims, stating Pasztor spoke disrespectfully to village employees.
"As long as I'm mayor here in this town, it's to protect the residents, protect my employees," Meintel said during the meeting. "I will not allow anybody to talk to my employees in a degrading way."
After Meintel threatened to have Police Chief Don Collette remove Pasztor from the room and referred to him as "Donut Boy," Pasztor stormed out of the meeting.
Meintel noted the citation will be handled by Belmont County Eastern Division Court due to a conflict of interest.
Council member Robert Dorris stated the village plans to update its ordinances to strictly regulate mobile businesses in order to protect local brick-and-mortar operations that support community programs.
