The City of Lacey's Community and Economic Development Department has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to study the next phase of its food truck plaza. Following a successful pilot program launched on city-owned property in 2021, the city is seeking a consultant to evaluate potential sites for a permanent plaza, according to a report by The Jolt News.

The chosen consultant will assess at least three centrally located sites in the Depot District, Lacey Midtown, or both. One mandatory site is the current location, which also is slated for a future museum.

All prospective sites must accommodate at least six food trucks with access to water, sewer, power, and parking. Additionally, the study requires planning for infrastructure, community analysis and a long-term plan.
