The food truck La Hamburguesa, based in Phoenix, Arizona, will transition into a permanent brick-and-mortar location at 2333 N. Seventh St., taking over the former Tatemados Tacos al Carbon space, according to a report by Phoenix New Times.
The concept launched over two years ago, under owner Hernan-Zeal Riveria, bgaining acclaim for Japanese-inspired, scratch-made smash burgers featuring locally sourced Bonafide Beef Wagyu, Chaconne Patisserie milk bread buns, and tallow-fried shoestring fries. Rivera's popular creations—like The Signature and the Anaheim chile-topped Viva Mexico—quickly landed La Hamburguesa on Phoenix's best-burger shortlists.
Now in an extended soft-opening phase, the expanded kitchen allows Rivera to showcase elevated culinary skills gained through high-profile chef collaborations. New menu additions include a hit steak frites dish — featuring a grilled Bonafide Beef bavette paired with green hatch molcajete salsa — alongside plans for desserts like Basque cheesecake, a full cocktail program, local craft beers, and natural wines.
"When it was just us in the truck, I could only do so much… Now that we have more space, we are going to be expanding the menu," Rivera said in the report.
Renovations and a redesign are slated for later this year, during which operations will temporarily pivot back to the truck parked on-site. Rivera aims for an official grand opening in early 2027, promising fans a knockout culinary experience.
